Chinese Medicine began taking form before the bronze age in China, rooted in Classical Chinese philosophy. These early philosophies came about after observing natural phenomena and drawing parallels between the outside world of nature and the inner world of the human mind and body. Since then, the medicine has been shaped by the culture, history and philosophies that have developed alongside it both in China and in other parts of the world. It is a sophisticated system that includes methods such as acupuncture, moxibustion, massage/body work (like Tui na), Herbal medicine, Topical applications, and others. Within Chinese medicine, there are many different schools of thought and ways of practicing.
